Seat Everybody

Privacy

Last updated November 3, 2026

The short version: the names you type or upload are never sent to us or to anyone else. They stay on your device.

Names, rosters and charts

When you paste or upload a list, your browser reads it. The seating, the chart, the print pages and the PDF are all made in your browser, with no server involved. There’s no account system and no database, so we couldn’t look up your list even if someone asked us to.

Your charts are saved in your browser’s local storage so they’re still there when you come back. Anyone using the same browser profile on that device can see them. To remove them, use Delete this chart in the tool, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings. If you use Save a copy to a file, that file goes wherever you put it.

You can check this yourself

Load the page, then turn off your Wi-Fi. The tool keeps working, because it doesn’t need a connection. Or open your browser’s developer tools, go to the Network tab, and make a chart. You won’t see any request carrying your list.

Student information

Teachers often work under rules about student data, like FERPA in the US, and under their school’s own policies. Since student names never reach us, we don’t collect or hold student records. We can’t tell you what your school allows, so ask if you’re unsure. You can use first names or initials if you prefer.

What the site does collect

Like any website, this one is served by a hosting company, and its servers keep ordinary request logs such as IP address, browser type, page requested and time. Those logs are used to keep the site running and don’t contain your lists.

The site doesn’t use analytics, advertising, tracking cookies or third-party scripts right now, and the fonts are served from this site. If that ever changes, this page will be updated first and will say what changed.

Children

This site is meant for adults, including teachers and event planners. It doesn’t ask for information about anyone, and it doesn’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
